Be confident is listed as a step in the assist phase.

Be confident

Confidence is the starting point in the assist phase because it signals to the person you’re helping that you’re capable of guiding them. When you come across as confident, you reduce their anxiety, build trust, and make them more receptive to your guidance. That trust is what allows you to clearly communicate what you can do and to plan the next steps, including any follow-up. Explaining what you can do is important, but it rests on that initial sense of capability you project. The other options don’t fit as the foundational step: one is an action that follows from confidence, another is unclear, and following up happens after you’ve established trust.
